Good Morning Speakasians,
I was summoned by the EOW for questioning for the third time the day before. I suppose they are done with me, but one can never be sure in such matters.
We all know that Mr. Ashish Dandekar was released from custody the day before and he has returned home after nearly two months.
I am happy to inform all of you that Mr. Melwyn Crasto was released on 17th, January 2012. This was incidentally the birthday of Amanciana, Melwyn’s wife. I am sure Melwyn could not have given her a better birthday gift.
I have come to realise that there is some confusion about the Supreme Court happenings of 16th January, 2012.
A reply filed in the court is called “Affidavit in Reply”.
To clarify in simple words the RBI wanted time to file their Affidavit in Reply
and the court was pleased to pass the said order
“UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following ORDER
Reserve Bank of India to file an affidavit within a period of two weeks.
List thereafter”.
Some people were confused as to what was this affidavit that the court had asked the RBI to file. I am sure with the explanation above this issue stands clarified that the RBI was asked to file the reply (“Affidavit in Reply”) like all respondents have to file.
In my earlier update I mistakenly mentioned that the above order was made on the request of the advocate of Union of India (through the Secretary Finance). Though the Union of India was present in the court, the order was passed on the request of RBI. I apologise for the mistake.
I have reliably learnt that Phoenix legal has filed a complaint with the Commissioner of police, against people who are tampering with the website. In this complaint, Phoenix Legal has categorically stated that SAOL is not in “CONTROL” of the website, since August 2011.
Some panelists who were worried about being arrested are in the process of filing an “Intervention Application” into the AISPA writ in the Mumbai High Court.
The main prayer in this Intervention Application is that the protection as provided to me should be provided to all interveners also, as they are similarly placed and on the same footing.
I have in my earlier updates tried to explain always, that whilst the matter is sub judice no time frame can be given. But in the final analysis, remember it will always be “Satyameva Jayate”.
It is often said that patience is the companion of wisdom. On this final lap, with victory in sight we need to draw on our wisdom and show patience. Have faith in the happenings, understand that the process may be slow, but is definitely moving in our favour.
Do not give heed to unwarranted and unauthenticated rumors. These are normal irritants in a public battle and are not happening for the first time.
As the journey has been long drawn till now we have had our ups and downs. We have had our share of despair and moments of joy. We have survived till now holding each other’s hands and we will endure to the end.
“A marathon is like life with its ups and downs, but once you've done it you feel that you can do anything” ...unknown
We will keep moving ahead and will relentlessly work hard to achieve our object of safeguarding the rights of all Speakasians.
Morya... Bhai Morya.
Jai Speakasia,
Jai Speakasia,
Jai Speakasia.
Ashok Bahirwani
Secretary
AISPA
